We are often presented with a plan for how our lives might look by our family, community, and society: for many of us, it’s to grow up, leave home, go to college or a job, create a career, find a partner, make a home of our own, have a family, see our children into adulthood, retire, and spend time on hobbies and with family.

What happens when your life goes off-script?

Maybe…

  • your world is shaken by the loss of someone important to you, and you are left wondering how to pick up the pieces and move forward.

  • you see your peers seeming to “check the boxes” of that imagined life--graduating, marrying, having children--and feel like you’re falling behind or failing.

  • you’ve reached retirement and are finding it more difficult to adjust to a life outside your job than you ever imagined.

  • your gender or sexuality doesn’t fit into the straight, binary norm, and you’re struggling to find what a full and healthy life would be for you when what you were taught may not apply.

All of these situations can leave you feeling lost and disconnected, and often may lead to problems with anxiety and depression.

How do you find meaning, hope, and even joy when things aren’t the way you expected them to be?

I want to help you answer this question. I use an affirming, client-centered approach to meet you where you are, and then work with you to find the direction you want to take and the tools that will help you on your way.

I work with adults over 25, of all genders. I offer telehealth therapy as well as in-person sessions (which may be available after discussing how to manage health safety and risks) at my Fremont office.

I have space for new clients. Contact me if you have questions.
